Serendipity

Today was an odd day in the very best way. I just had to write about it right away.

First I went to an open house one of my AP friends was hosting. She's become a consultant for this great company. With her permission, I will post details about it very soon, along with her website. It's a very exciting product, I'm sure you will agree.

Anyway, the open house was scheduled from 10-4 but I was running late and didn't arrive till 3. I was worried that no one would be there and she would be pretty much done for the day.

To my surprise a couple was already there and they are the same couple I met last November at the Adoption Options information night (where we went to learn more about international adoption). We had exchanged cards back then as they were further ahead in the process (already working on their CAFAC workbook) and they generously offered to give me pointers. But I sort of misplaced their card and then time went by, as it does. But I found the card the other day and was thinking I really should email them. So I was totally hyped to catch up with them today! Their dossier is just about ready to go to Ethiopia.

So, that was the first cool thing that happened today.

Second was discovering my friend the consultant used to be a professional dancer. So we shot the shite about that for a bit (and talked hardwood floors & kids) and have decided to find a dance class to take together. Now, she was a professional dancer and has danced more recently than me, so I hope we can find a class that will work for us both. WOO HOO!!!

The third thing, after such a great afternoon, happened at Safeway on the way home. My cashier is a lady I haven't seen in probably 25 years! She was one of my first friends in Calgary and there were 3 of us that used to hang out all the time. She just moved back to Cowtown from Vancouver. I gave her my card and I hope she calls me as she said she would. Or at least I'll see her again at the store at some point. It was so amazing to see her again (she hasn't changed at bit) and to catch up a little. I was somewhat verklempt during the conversation.

I love days like this. They let me know I must be doing something right to have all these weird and wonderful things happen to me.
