Live and in person

I got together with Dianne and Rhonda at the James Joyce Pub last night. Dianne and I have hooked up many-a-time now. But this was the first time I've met Rhonda and boy, I wish we'd met before (she lives in Saskatchewan).

I had such a riot last night. As always it was so great to sit down with someone I've never met before and immediately be yakking fast and furious like old friends. The three of us shut down one end of the patio. Maybe because it was getting late, but probably because we were pretty darn loud. You would think we were drunk (we weren't).

Rhonda just passed the 12 month waiting period (blech) and Dianne just passed 7 months (blech). We had a good ole whinge about timelines, unrealistic expectations, the pros of adoption, and how beautiful our kids are going to be.

Thanks to Rhonda, I now have a couple of absolutely crazy good ideas for boy's names if I decide to adopt a second time. I'll have to keep those names secret though, in case someone tries to steal them ;-)

Oh, you might be wondering why Rhonda and I are holding up baby socks in the picture. Dynamite Dianne decided to buy some for us from The Gap. Apparently, they are THE BEST socks for kids and you are an unfit parent if you don't buy them for your kids. Thanks Dianne!

And thanks to you both for inviting me to join you last night. Rhonda, I can't wait till we see each other again -- maybe for next year's CAFAC picnic weekend (with our kids).
