Let the ritual stabbing begin

ALK and I went to the travel clinic for our vaccination consultation today and the first round of shots for Ethiopia.

Left to my own devices, I might have forgotten and waited longer to begin, but since I'm going to Jamaica next month, I realized I need to get some of the same shots for that trip too. And I was able to book ALK in with me, which was great and made me less nervous.

I'm going to jot the shots down here so I can keep track of what I did and keep it straight because my head was spinning from all the information today.

Today we got 3 shots:
- first dose (of 3) of Twinrix for Hep A/B. I'm on an accelerated schedule to finish these shots by May 14th so I'll be good for the beach. I'll need a booster for Ethiopia.
- Menctra for meningococcal meningitis
- YF-VAX for yellow fever - ouch, that one burnt a bit and my arm is a wee bit sore right now.

We also got the oral vaccines to start tonight for:
- Vivotif for typhoid
- Dukoral for traveller's diarrhea and Cholera (I'm starting mine tonight as I'll need it for next month. ALK can wait until closer to our travel date to start that one.

Now, my brain is tired because I worked late last night so I can't remember if we still have to get Polio and MMR (red measles/German measles/rubella), but I don't think so. We asked for everything we could get in one day.

I'm going to log off now, put my feet up, and watch ANTM (I am so glad Fatima made it last week).
