That's what I said after reading this posting from Owlhaven on the Ethiopian Adoption Blog:
International adoption; why not living relatives?
She references Anita's blog, Banku, Pho, and Fried Spiders! at the end of her entry.
Both writers have expressed thoughts I have had many times myself. Anita has some real experience in Ghana that I found very interesting to read about.
After reading There Is No Me Without You, I felt much better about the possibility that M might having siblings or other birth family. I was better able to understand what drives parents/grandparents to place the kids into care. Not that these families want their kids taken out of Ethiopia. I don't think that's a goal for most people. But the reality is that it's a real option for these kids who don't have any others.
