Holy Hana - She's Home!!

Yesterday I skipped out of work to be part of the welcoming wagon for Dianne, Chris, and their daughter, Hana.

Dianne's Dad flew in from BC just for the occasion

I don't know about the new parents, but it felt a little surreal to finally see Hana in all her gorgeous, chubbily, baby glory and to give her a kiss on the cheek. She was so calm and cool, despite the crazy paparazzi flash bulbs going off constantly. What a smile! And I got to watch her walk around with her Dad. What a sweet toddle she has. Dianne and Chris have waited WAAAY TO LONG to bring their girl home from Ethiopia. Now they are a complete family and they look like they've always been together.

I always consider it an honour to greet friends at the airport during this very incredible time in their lives. I felt the same sense of occasion on Monday.

Hana and her luggage

It was great because Eileen and Robert were there to welcome the new family, too. We kept ourselves company during the 1 hr 50 min wait for the family to clear customs.

Robert was camera shy - he said he was avoiding the flow of estrogen

Definitely worth the wait

Pop on over to Dianne's blog to see video and pictures of Hana sleeping in her crib - there is no better sight.
