Gina has a post about Black History Month. It also talks about the debate raging in Toronto around creating Afrocentric schools.
I wish I knew the answer to that argument but I don't. I don't agree that separating the kids is the answer but I do feel more emphasis on black history in Canada and around the world is very important. As is good parenting. We can't count on our schools to do everything.
Back to Black History Month. Mom asked me to attend a Feb. 23rd gospel singing concert at The Jube in celebration of the month. It is presented by the National Black Coalition of Canada. I've never attended such a thing so I'm looking forward to it.
