Barack Obama is big in the news today as he declared his presidential exploratory committee - the first step. And if Hillary throws her hat into the ring - WOW!! How cool would that be to have a black AND a female candidate vying for top US boss. It seems Dubya has so upset the US that these 2 HUGE steps could actually be taken for the first time, at the same time! Love it! Talk about 'you've come a long way, baby.'
Speaking of which, yesterday was Martin Luther King Day in the states and on Sunday I watched a documentary on slavery - Unchained Memories: Readings from the Slave Narratives. I don't think I've ever seen a more powerful film on this subject. It amazes me to think that slavery was only just abolished in 1865 - a 100 years before my birthday - Christ!!
...another cool thing, good ole Canadian actor, Adam Beach, is a guest star on tonight's Law & Order: SUV. He is Native American (Ojibwa Nation), AND, he's playing a detective - not a perp!! Just thought I would mention it.
