We old time waiters have been hearing all sorts of stories of when the latest batch of referrals is coming in. Somebody said last week, somebody else said this week. Somebody already got a referral, which leaves the rest of us wondering if we've missed the boat again because we haven't recieved The Call.
Because I like to get my news from the horse's mouth, as it were, I emailed CAFAC yesterday and was told that the latest batch of referrals had just come in and they were reviewing them that day. The plan is to send them out to the provincial desks for approval today or Monday. Which means it could be as soon as Monday before more referrals good tidings are heard.
I'm hoping that my Dad is going to work some magic Upstairs for me. He passed away on April 9th and his birthday is April 10th. Come on, Dad, now is the time, right? Plus, Claire and family will be coming to visit for Easter and I can't think of a better time to have the family together.
Being in Alberta, my referral will go up to Edmonchuk for Aberta Children Services (ACS) to approve it. They will then send it to my s/w to call me. That could take a few days. Now, Friday is Good Friday and a bank holiday, so I doubt anything will happen that day. Monday is Easter Monday and some places (not my office but maybe the gubbermint offices) take that day off too. Soooo, if I'm in this current batch, I hope hope hope they hustle my file along, toot suite!
I am once again cautiously optimistic (
Have a great weekend, y'all!
