Strollers!

Last week Gina gave me some items that big-girl-now Samara has outgrown, including clothes, a toy kitchen set, a diaper bag, a portable crib, and a gorgeous pink umbrella stroller.

Can I tell you, the sight of that pink stroller in my house gave me a real, TRUE sense of pending motherhood. I was feeling rather verklempt and couldn't stop staring at it. For the first time I could properly visualize Myfanwy in my house - not just the idea of her being there. I could see her sitting in the stroller, swinging her legs, happily chattering away. I guess because it was the first baby item that she would actually be in and using other than clothing. Thank you Gina and Samara!!

Then on Wednesday night I picked up my sister-in-law, Dana, to go for coffee. At her house I had a chance to play with baby Eden, my great (yes, I'm old) niece for a while. Through the course of our conversations, I found out that Aaron & Kristen had an extra stroller that they needed to get rid of. Dana had been unsuccessful in finding a new home for it for a number of days. Turns out many people don't want a second-hand stroller, even when it's in near perfect condition and is only a year old. Dana had just that day placed an ad in the Bargain Finder to give it away. She had it in the back of her Jeep and asked if I wanted to take a look at it. It was love at first sight so I took it off their hands, toot suite!

People, this stroller is perfect for me! In addition to being a great color & looking sharp, it has all the features I was looking for. It has a large storage basket & rubber (not plastic) wheels. It's even kid-tested and approved. There are Cheerios in the seat to prove it:

It comes with the peek-a-boo window I wanted:

A well-padded seating area & harness, bottle holder, and a convenient swing out tray for M:

Two cup holders and a storage compartment for me:

It even has a Purell holder!:

I can't bring myself to store these strollers away just yet. I still get a thrill walking into the kitchen and seeing them there (and pushing them around, of course).

Now it's "bums in seats" time!!
