Weekend baby fix

I wasn't disappointed. Not only did Barbara and I yak our way through the weekend, but I got one the longest baby fixes I've had in some time. 48 straight hours of Makeda! Not only is she beautiful, she's also very calm, cool, and collected. (Barbara may not take credit for this, but obviously she's doing something right).

Oh, the sweetness. Plus, I got to test drive that baby buggy for quite some time.

I met Makeda's aunties, Judith, Marianne, and Suzanne on Saturday for brunch at Juliet's. Then her grandparents came by to babysit while Barbara and I went for dinner at Fuel. Barbara has great parents ("Hi!!") who were even more lovely than I imagined from reading her blog. What a joy and honour to be able to meet them all on this trip.

Sunday was another bonus - I went to my first Gay Pride parade! I'll spare you the more risque pictures.

Doesn't the guy on the right (next to Carmen Miranda and Mimi from the Drew Carey show?) look like some crazy, Saturday morning cartoon character? Maybe a character you wouldn't want your kids getting too attached to. His face cracks me up.

Note to self:

This was suspiciously well timed: Makeda finally decided to become a bit cranky late Sunday afternoon, from lack of sleep due to a disrupted sleep schedule. (Who. Me?) So I decided to leave her with her mother and returned to Calgary empty handed :-(

But with great memories of the weekend. Thanks Barbara and Makeda!!
