May 30-31 weekend summit

Boy am I late to writing this post. Oh well, better late than never, right? So, on the occasion of Biset's 5-month birthday, I present more details on the First IAMASLUT Women's Weekend Summit. I would not be a charter member of this amazing organization if it were not for Biset.

Waaay back on May 30th I boarded a plane for San Francisco. One of the great things about my job is that I travel to see my team mates in Redwood City, CA about once a year. The location couldn't be more serendipitous because 2 of my fellow IAMASLUT founding members live close by. Last year, I missed meeting Porter by about one day--she had just left to pick up Elsa. I did get to meet Suzanne for the first time though.

This year, by the grace of God, Porter and Suzanne were in town, PLUS Barbara and Tasha (and her sister Sasha) were able to join us for the weekend. It was fantastic for all of us to finally get together after all these (almost 3!) years. Porter and Elsa picked us up at the airport.

Lunch outdoors with Barbara on Saturday at Mocca:

I already posted about dinner on Saturday night. The excitement was electrifying.

On Sunday morning, Barbara and I took the train to visit Suzanne. The BART system has strict rules--no food or drink allowed. Tourists that we were, Barbara and I had just purchased a couple of much needed Starbucks before seeing the sign, but there was no way in hell we were giving them up.

My coffee was stashed discreetly in my purse. Barbara had less discipline. Here she is breaking the law (and she's a lawyer for cripe's sake. Tsk!):

Visiting at Suzanne's house on Sunday:

Elsa is even more of a beautiful rock star in person than she is on her blog, if that's possible:

She's clutching one of the Canadian beavers I brought as a memento of the trip.

After lunch with the ladies, Barbara and I headed back to the city and did some major shopping.

Fighting with the intricacies of the BART ticket machine:

It was such a significant trip for me that I really wanted to buy something special for Biset while I was there. Fortunately, we discovered the Janie and Jack baby boutique and I picked out these lovely items on sale (they have an even better sale going on right now).

I can't wait to see Biset wearing these next summer:

This is so sweet:

We were pooped from shopping and just about to head back to the hotel when I spied Anthropologie. NO WAY was I leaving without stopping there first. Thank God they were open late on Sundays because I think we were there for over 2 hours. Barbara got some great clothes, and I stuck to the home decor stuff. Heaven! It was so much better than buying from the catalogue or online. The store is massive. We need one in Calgary... or maybe it's best that we don't.

B for Biset. Her waiting buddies seem to approve of her new wall hook:

Next up: June 1-3--working from my company's Redwood City office, and making the big announcement to my boss.

p.s. I've edited this post a couple of times and found some pretty atrocious errors-- others may remain so I apologize in advance. I blame the Percocet, which is also affecting my ability to speak correctly.
